Joe Newtz, a solo musician from Beaver, Pennsylvania, has been writing rhythmic and engaging songs for over twenty years. ‘I just write songs about how I feel at the time,’ says Joe, a self-trained musician and vocalist.
While most of the songs are acoustic-based, the music is elevated by unexpected melodic twists and turns which display the diversity of his influences. His unique, resilient voice and accessible lyrics convey a yearning for spirituality and social relevance, yet his music certainly wouldn’t sound out of place on your favorite modern-rock radio station.
In 2016, Joe Newtz was placed on the Official Ballot for the 59th Annual Grammy Awards by The Recording Academy in the following categories: Best Rock Performance (‘Falling In’), Best Rock Performance (‘Save Me’), and Best Rock Song (‘Falling In’).
