
Mark Antonich Trio with Kevin Kouach & Pat Rush
The Mark Antonich Trio consists of members Ken Kovach on electric bass, Pat Rush on drums, and Mark Antonich on guitar. A highly versatile group, they play many styles of music from jazz to rock to country to Jimmy Buffet. The trio is a side project for everyone in the group.
Ken Kovach attended the Duquesne University School of Music and studied trombone with Dan Poupard and Matty Shiner. He played in the jazz bands and concert bands.
Ken holds down the bass chair with Jimmy Beaumont and the Skyliners and freelances with many local musicians. He also has performed with national acts including Ben E. King, the Drifters, the Jersey Boys, Four Aces, and the Platters.
Pat Rush resides in the South Hills of Pittsburgh and is a graduate of the Duquesne University School of Music. He is a long time veteran of Pittsburgh’s music scene, having played drums with some of the region’s most recognizable names which include Metro, Blind Date, Nancy McKeen Buzz Machine!, and Gone South. Pat has been influenced by everyone he has ever played with. He taught drums and percussion privately for many years, and credits Pittsburgh drum legend Tom La Flame as his mentor and inspiration.
Mark has worked with Ken and Pat in many other bands and projects. This is why they have such a wide repertoire of music to play. Mark also graduated from Duquesne University with a Master’s degree in Music Theory. He also graduated from the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California.
While studying there, Mark was voted one of the outstanding students of the year. Los Angeles studio guitarist, Tommy Tedesco presented him with a brand new Ovation guitar as his award. In Phoenix, Arizona…
Mark also had the opportunity to attend and perform in master classes with jazz guitar legends, Howard Roberts, Herb Ellis, and Barney Kessel.
